Formulas can be found by navigating to the Menu or Search Screens at the top of the Main Screen, or found on the Favourites Screen if you've saved some formulas from your last use.
Some formulas have the option change the worked out variable within a formula, given you have the right fixed variables. Once you've selected your formula, enter your fixed variables into the appropriate inputs and press the equals button to get your finance solution.
If you need more information on a given formula, there is an info button provided at the top of the screen that gives details on variables and what the formula is used for in the finance world. You can also check out formulas on the platform by clicking the button below!
As well as finance formulas, On Equation Finance Calculator has a bunch of other cool features! We tried to make it pretty, user friendly, and update the platform regularly with new formulas based on your suggestions.

There are many financial equations on offer with On Equation Finance Calculator. Why waste time with a finance or graphics calculator when you can have an app?
At On Equation, we are big on user feedback. We take feedback very seriously and add or alter formulas based on what you think.
We made it as pretty as possible, or at least we think so. Let's be honest, the formulas that you work with are ugly as hell and most calculators are just a dull grey.
We have integrated the app to work in conjunction with the website so that you have more detailed information on how to use the formulas and what they are for.
The staff at On Equation are ready to take your questions should you need more info or detailed explanations on how formulas work. Contact us if you need help!
Everyone has questions, it's what separates us from the animals! Here's a list of frequently asked questions we get in relation to On Equation Finance Calculator. If you have questions, we'd be more than happy to try to answer! Just send us an email or contact us via social media.
On Equation Finance Calculator and its range of formulas is based on the university curriculums undertaken by the current management team when they studied corporate finance. When developing a list of materials, the course outlines of classes undertaken by the management team were compared to other corporate finance course outlines from a range of universities and a brief list of necessary formulas was conceived.
As often as we can! We try to push an update once every couple of months, depending on what we get requests for and how many changes need to be implemented.
It can be a little difficult. For example, some formulas just work out better as Excel spreadsheets. A great example of this is the Carhart 4-Factor Model. If you've studied Corporate Finance, you know you need a regression model to work this bad boy out. Adding that to the On Equation Finance Calculator would needlessly complicate an already complex process.
No, but close! Sometimes we're already working on a formula when we receive the suggestion. Other times it depends on the complexity of the formula and how many users suggest a formula that determines what we do or do not add to the platform.
The internet, basically. The descriptions of formulas and variables have been written in our own words based on university studies, but we've double checked and compared our information against outside information across the internet; from Business Insider to Wikipedia. It's pretty comprehensive, but we've tried our hardest to come up with a generalised dataset.
Math is hard, and not everyone who gets into a finance degree is a mathematician. As students, we'd get confused and lost when our lecturers would jump across explanations of formulas because they were well versed in algebra and didn't feel the need to explain everything as they went through formulas in classes. Also, statistics and figures can be a somewhat "creative" intepretation when it comes to management decisions, so why not make getting to those figures as fast and painless as possible? That's essentially why we made the app. We just felt that the whole process could be streamlined for better decision making.
We've covered many equations in the app, but we may have missed one or two! If you have any further questions about how the app works or would like to suggest formulas for the future, feel free to contact us, the On Equation Team, via social media or send us an email!
